WE THINK THE MORE WOMEN IN TECH, THE BETTER TECH WILL BE.
That’s right. You heard us. More women in tech!
Women are underrepresented in the technology sector, and Hoosier Women in Tech (HooWiT) is working hard to effectively address these challenges on a local level.
HooWiT is a new monthly forum bringing local women in tech and tech-related fields together with women in technology-related majors at Indiana University and Ivy Tech Bloomington. These monthly events aim to encourage women working in local tech companies to network with each other, STEM-focused students to learn about tech careers from local women in tech, and tech companies to be able to meet these bad***es who may have skills needed in their companies.
WHO IS BEHIND THESE SHENANIGANS?
That would be us. The HooWIT committee:
Danise Alano-Martin, Dana Palazzo, Meghan Turner, Jennifer Turrentine, Ellie Symes, Katie Birge, Casey Nemecek
ARE YOU AS PUMPED AS WE ARE?
We thought so. Find a way to get involved or ask us what we think the best path is for you. That could mean simply signing up for our emails, speaking at one of our kick-butt events, donating your (valuable) money to our cause, or sponsoring in a variety of ways on behalf of your company/business. None of those sound just right? Okay, Goldilocks, just reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org. 🙂
